SAMARINDA - Effort to raise the extended masterpiece of Sarong Samarinda, again held Sarong Samarinda Fair of Culture, Tourism and Communication and Information Technology (Disbudparkominfo) in cooperation with the Samarinda National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) on the 1st floor Samarinda Central Plaza (SCP), Saturday (7 / 9).

The main purpose of the fair, certainly, is to raise the extended masterpiece of Sarong Samarinda and showing how elegant to be applied into fashion products, also to ensure public that this Sarong Samarinda serves as not only a common sarong, "said M. Faisal, head of the media of Disbudparkominfo of Samarinda as he stated in his office, Thursday (5/9).

Furthermore, he said, the fair has also become a means of gathering between both modeling agencies that embodies the models and local designers with a key of officials of Disbudparkominfo and Dekranasda. Chairman of Dekranasda of Samarinda, Setyowati Jaang will be attending in respect.

"Insya Allah, I will be attending this fair. I am very proud of the creative work of artisans in Samarinda that appreciative against the Fashion Trend of Samarinda Sarong. Entire community can witness this event in order to see how beautiful masterpiece of Samarinda Sarong turns into a fashion products," Puji Setyowati Jaang said.

My great expectation would be being able to embrace this amazing work of arts to play role on national scenery.  “We may embrace these amazing arts forth to national event, said Mayor’s First Lady.

20 modeling agencies and existing models community is featuring in the fair. Around 115 models children up to adults will showcase their art work base on Sarong Samarinda material.” said Agnes Gering, event cordinator. 

Simultaneously, we will announce the winner of Samarinda Batik Design Competition 2013, to complete wide selection of Batik Design last year’s competition”, stated Agnes.
