National Space and Aviation Agency (LAPAN) mentions 11 provinces in Indonesia will experience a Total Solar Eclipse (GMT) phenomenon that will occur on March 9, 2016.

GMT 2016 will begin in Palembang (South Sumatra), Bangka Belitung, Sampit and Palangkara (Central Kalimantan), Balikpapan (East Kalimantan), Palu, Poso, Luwuk (Central Sulawesi), Ternate and Halmahera (North Maluku), West Sulawesi, Bengkulu, Jambi, West Kalimantan. Meanwhile, the people who were in the city of Padang, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Pontianak, Denpasar, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Kupang, Manado and Ambon could enjoy partial solar eclipse phenomenon.

The astronomers, photographers and scientists from different disciplines from various countries have planned to visit Indonesia.
