The presence of non-Muslim countries in the competition of halal tourism is indeed a uniqueness. Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya expressed his concerns with competitors from non-Muslim countries. Call it Japan to Sweden and New Zealand.

In the ranking of non-Muslim countries GMTI, Japan has entered into the rank 6. While ranked 1 is reach by Singapore and followed by Thailand in rank 2. It is not impossible that non-Muslim countries can overtake the Muslim country in halal tourism.
