Balikpapan again wins Adipura Kencana award in 2015 from the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Prestigious award in field of environment was handed over directly by the Vice President Jusuf Kalla, accompanied by Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya in Bidakara building, Jl Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Monday (11/23/2015).

The award is given based on an assessment of 357 cities and districts throughout Indonesia. In addition Adipura kencana, as many as 65 city also were favored Adipura Award 2015, and 69 cities have been certified Adipura Award 2015 at the Night of Environment Award 2015.

The winner Criteria this year's award more stringent by looking at waste management, which use the criteria TPA that withdrawn at least Controlled Landfill (land waste uruk).
