“Details make perfection, and perfection is not a detail.”
— Leonardo da Vinci
There is a belief that has gradually changed the way I think about design.
Our attention often begins—and ends—with the finished object. We admire its form, appreciate its function, and celebrate its beauty. Yet long before a piece becomes something we can hold, another space is rarely seen: pages of sketches, handwritten notes in the margins, months of research, conversations with artisans, and the quiet persistence of refining an idea over and over again. It is there, I believe, that innovation truly begins.
Building Miumosa has taught me that the greatest value of a creation does not reside solely in the object itself, but in the idea that gave birth to it. Every design carries knowledge, cultural identity, lived experience, and time. It is intellectual property worthy of recognition—not only once it becomes a product, but from the very moment it exists as an idea.
This perspective feels increasingly relevant as intellectual property becomes one of the defining pillars of tomorrow’s creative economy. Through the ongoing work of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), we are reminded that creativity is far more than artistic expression. It is an economic asset, a catalyst for innovation, and a means of preserving cultural heritage for generations to come.
That realization has led Miumosa into its next chapter.
Today, we are exploring how technology can serve as a guardian—not a replacement—of the creative process. By developing an intellectual property ecosystem supported by RFID and blockchain technologies, we envision a future where every design possesses a verifiable identity, every work carries a documented provenance, and every creator receives rightful recognition for the ideas they bring into the world. To us, innovation is not only about creating something new. It is equally about ensuring that what is valuable retains its authenticity, integrity, and meaning over time.
This is where our journey is heading.
Miumosa will always create artworks rooted in the richness of Indonesian culture. Yet our purpose now extends beyond the products themselves. We aim to help build an ecosystem where creativity is valued as intellectual capital, where culture is valued as living knowledge, and where technology helps protect both. So they remain relevant, trusted, and enduring for generations to come.
Because every creation will eventually find its owner. But only those whose stories are carefully preserved will become a legacy.
