Singapore - Kawal Menteri, a newly created website by a group of volunteers, has just released its second version, KM 2.0. Kawal Menteri is a platform to encourage the public to monitor and to assess performances by the different ministries.

Public can easily navigate the website to see the score card of each ministries. Through the website, citizens can view ministries’ daily activities, budget information, key priorities and progress of implementation. Another unique feature was the Kawal Menteri Index, a simple chart of numbers and graphics, to easily communicate ministries performance to the public and the government.

According to information received by GIVNews from the Kawal Menteri team, they have received a request from the official presidential unit on monitoring the performance of ministries to integrate Kawal Menteri with their platform, LAPOR. Also, they will release the Kawal MenteriIndex to the press and the government every three months.

Public are encouraged to submit news and comments to the site. With their participation, the site could serve as a tool to build a transparent and accountable ministry in this new cabinet.
