Startup Istanbul is the leading startup event which brings together founders, investors and executives in the region. The competition held in Istanbul, Turkey, from Oct. 6 to Oct. 10.

The Indonesian consul-general in Istanbul, Herry Sudradjat, told the Antaranews agency that online fundraising website Kitabisa.com, custom clothing service provider Kostoom and job search engine Urbanhire made it into the top 15 at the Startup Istanbul 2016 Challenge, following a tight selection process that involved another 474 candidates.

No fewer than 24,646 start-ups from 135 countries had registered to participate in Startup Istanbul 2016 Challenge, but only 489 succeeded.
