The Japanese surprise to see Ink Hand Dipped Voters

Election that occurs every five years is not missed by eight students of Setsunan University, Japan who studying at University of dr. Soetomo (Unitomo), Surabaya to learn democracy.

They have came and observed the voting process at Voting Center 10 Medokan village, Semampir, Sukolilo District, Surabaya , on Wednesday afternoon ( 09/04/2014 ) .

Rena Kusumoto’s face went to shine as the House of Committee Voters (KPPS) request assistance for each voter to vote at the voting booth. This Japanese girl stated of each voter’s queue number with Indonesian different accent. Eventually, that odd accent were intrigued most prospective voters –which is a group of house mothers- to see it. Especially Rena Kusumoto was wearing Yukata – Japanese traditional clothing- complete with a big belt (obi) and pair of clogs. Seven of her college which similarly dressed like her way was all together watching the voting process at the polling center.

"She looks like Oshin,” said one voter.

Earlier, the chairman of KPPS, Anjarwanto, briefly explains the voting process to the voters.

The colleges who come together with Bachrul Amiq as Unitomo rector accompanied with his wife and daughter enthusiasm tried dipped into ink as proof of contribution. Even Yo Matsutani a twenty-years-old college has dipped her finger into tint can, senseless.

Rena Kusumoto was deeply impressed with the Indonesian elections. She compared with Japan government elections. “In Japan, the youth are rarely participating, most likely abstain. In Japan, the voters eligible to vote at least twenty years old. When I coming home, I may express my vote”, said Rena haltingly.
