Beauty and craftsmanship in Manila Fame 2019

The artistry of the Everyday, the best words I can salute, to presents the Manila Fame’s collection of arts, fashion, design aesthetic, architecture, interior & furniture at its couture. The exhibition gives an overview of Philippines history and culture, focusing on the rich aesthetic traditions of local craftsmen. From ancient times to the present day, working with limited materials but an extensive vocabulary of symbols and motifs, Manila Fame have created objects that are both beautiful and practical. Intricately woven textiles, incised metal locks, and keys, painted pottery and richly embroidered leather bags are just a few examples that are highlighted in.

The Indonesia pavilion, a collaboration between Indonesia Embassy, Ministry of Trade,  Ministry of SME & Cooperation, and Bandung Province showcased Indonesian batik handweaving applications on furniture, clothing, houseware, and installations. Miumosa as one of thirty curated SME showcased the 2019 collection of Provocative Origin which elevates the bold and eponymous Batik and Betawi Heritage into exquisite embellished footwear designs.

The program, in operation since 2015, has so far trained 103 new craftsmen in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The program aims to strengthen and enhance the use of the design in reinforcing cultural identity in the development and marketing of ASEAN products by sustaining the region’s master craftsmen.

A cohort with a highly creative and entrepreneurial mindset, Millenials are disruptors of industry, authority, convention and tradition. Millennials are confident, ambitious, and achievement-oriented. Color-Blocking is so common in fashion to state their personality. With a strong signature, the abstract painting, mural and graffiti will surely be appealing.

Why do fashion trends allow men to be comfortable while women don’t even get to wear functional shoes? Where all the men’s trends had two things in common, comfort and warmth, while women’s was all about the opposite.

It doesn’t really matter what shoe trends are in for men—they’re going to be some form of a comfortable flat. Fortunately for women, we’ve come one tiny step closer to the flat; kitten heels are back in style. The kitten heel is a perfect metaphor for the current state of gender equality. It’s not a full heel which, in this metaphor, stands for complete inequality, but it’s also not quite a flat. It’s almost a flat. Because we’re almost equal, but not yet.

Ramadan is an Islamic religious observance of the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It begins with the sight of the new moon and continues for about 30 days. For Muslims, Ramadan is considered the holiest month of the Islamic year.

Across the world, Muslims fast each day for the entire month of Ramadan, abstaining from food and drink from dawn to dusk. That means around 15 hours without food, water, cigarettes or caffeine.

Fasting is aimed at drawing worshippers closer to God through self-control, remembrance and humility. The challenge of fasting for many is also a chance to reset spiritually and physically, kick bad habits and purify the heart.

During the day, Muslims must also abstain from sex, gossip and cursing, and are encouraged to focus on meditative acts like prayer, reading the Quran and charity.

In the Philippines, doing business is a highly personal endeavour. If you plan to close a deal in the Philippines or are even preparing to invest, expect proceedings to take more time than you may be used to. In the Philippines, patience is indeed a virtue. A personal introduction through a friend or business associate is essential to establishing a relationship with your business partners-to-be. Keep in mind that, in the Philippines, successful business relationships are based on personal interaction and trust.

As mentioned before, Filipinos are very status-conscious, and the use of formal titles is an important way of showing respect to your business partners and colleagues. Unlike in other Asian countries, however, the exchange of business cards is not overly formalized, albeit still of some importance. You should present and receive business cards with both hands. Include your title and position on the card to make clear the influence and status you may have.

Fashion. Hi Fashion. Fashion CoutureCouture atau adi busana memiliki alasan mengapa ia berada di rantai tertinggi dalam jajaran mode. Tidak hanya dari sudut pandang desain, pengerjaan tangan dan waktu yang dihabiskan dalam menghasilkan sebuah karya pun turut diperhitungkan, sehingga tidak semua rumah mode siap menanggung beban nama belakang couture.

Kultur. Budaya. Kearifan. Indonesia yang kaya akan kearifan lokal dan karya pengrajin tradisional menggugah saya untuk turut melestarikannya. dengan cara yang berbeda.

Mulai dari tenun Lombok, tenun kontemporer Kaltim, dan teranyar kain batik Betawi lahir dengan garis desain khas Miumosa, the heels heritage. Seakan berbanding lurus, diamini, dengan ajang kontes pencarian duta pariwisata Jakarta, Miumosa turut mensukseskan Abang None Jakarta-Kepulauan Seribu 2019 sebagai penyedia sepatu resmi seluruh kontestan lima belas besar yang lolos kualifikasi. Ini kali pertama bagi Miumosa untuk membuat sepatu untuk pria (Abang Jakarta). Kesemua koleksi bertema Provocative Origin.

Provocative Origin. Diambil dari dua suku kata. Provokatif, dimana keberadaan heels masih menjadi pro dan kontra dan orang kebanyakan lebih mengaitkan dengan konotasi negatif dan eksploitasi seksual wanita. Tugas saya adalah mengubah mindset itu.

Origin, pemendekan dari kata “originalitas”, “orisinil” bahwa setiap bahan atau kain yang dipakai pada saat pembuatan adalah bahan yang terjaga kwalitasnya. Heritage. Batik Betawi yang dipakai selama produksi adalah batik Heritage hasil kolaborasi dengan Batik Gobang Betawi.

Prosesnya berjalan begitu cepat. Ketemu. Meeting. Lanjut whatsapp messenger. Ujung-ujungnya nota kesepahaman (MoU). Tidak dinyana, ternyata sebegitu cepatnya kesepakatan terjalin, padahal ini menyangkut institusi besar Suku Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Pemprov DKI Jakarta. Mungkin saya beruntung saja.

Banyak pengalaman baru saya temui. Selain sebagai official shoe partner, saya diwajibkan untuk memenuhi kewajiban seperti memberi kelas pembekalan, public speaking dan mengikuti serangkaian agenda yang telah ditetapkan.

Tim internal Miumosa pun tak kalah ribetnya. Mulai dari tim kreatif desain, konten dan editorial, IT support sampai bagian produksi. Ada kalanya tampil cantik mempesona, tetapi lenyap seketika ketika harus tidur diantara tumpukan desain dan bengkel sepatu yang luar biasa berantakkan.

But I love what i am doing. Design is funny world. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works.

God never gives you a dream that matches your budget. God never checking your bank account, but checking your FAITH! Adalah pengalaman baru yang berurusan dengan mentoring, pitch deck investor dan permodalan.

Manila Fame 2019, sebuah helatan fashion, seni, desain, arsitektur dan gaya hidup yang akan digelar 25-27 April 2019 mendatang. Melalui Kemenkop, Miumosa lulus kurasi dan menjadi salah satu usaha yang akan mewakili paviliun Indonesia.

Bank Indonesia Jakarta kembali menyelenggarakan Pameran Karya Kreatif Indonesia 2019. Alangkah senangnya, bisa masuk dalam penjaringan pengusaha baru potensial.Terima kasih atas pihak-pihak yang telah begitu rendah hati mereferensikan saya. Adalah penghargaan bagi saya dan Miumosa bisa ikut mensukseskan pameran tersebut.
